FIXED CUTTER
Fixed cutters are mainly use in either soft ground or mixed grounds mechanize boring. On soft ground boring, fixed cutter is the primary cutter tool use on the machine. While on mixed ground boring, fixed cutters are use together with the roller cutter for a more effective boring. Most fixed cutter are inserted with Tungsten for performance, Tungsten wear much slower that the cutter body thus, there is possibility of Tungsten dropping off the body.
